Research Guidelines

General Information

Drafting research papers and having the chance to conduct your own research is often limited to students or scholars operating at a graduate level. SciencesPo Scientifique aims to widen such opportunities to undergraduate students not only at Sciences Po but also to students around the world.

Your research paper should be unique; this means that it should not be a mere summary, review, or amalgamation of multiple existing research papers. The research and editorial team will guide you along the process on how to find a topic that you are interested in or focusing on a research “gap” that will set your paper apart from other existing literature. Also, your work should be original. The work that you are submitting for the journal cannot be a work that is published or currently in consideration at another journal/publications. Please contact us if you wish to submit a work produced for a university assessment, but in general, the paper must be written for submission at SciencesPo Scientifique.

All papers with their research subject in the social sciences and humanities (political sciences, economics, business, international relations, history, linguistics, philosophy, sociology, culture, etc.) will be accepted for publication. If you would like to submit a paper that does not fit into the classical category of social sciences or humanities, please contact us. Keep in mind that all materials (footnotes, citations, fonts) should be formatted according to the format guidelines.

Once the paper is submitted, it will go through a double-blind review process. It will first undergo a peer-review performed by one or two academics of the relevant field of study, after which the editorial team will do a review based on research and format guidelines. The decision of acceptance or rejection will be based on the former. If needed, you can be contacted for suggested corrections and changes based on the review process.
